After taking part in a series of creative writing workshops with writer and performer Talia Randall, a group of our students have achieved something truly special – their work has been published in an anthology titled ‘Somehow, They Love Sunshine’, now officially housed in the British Library.
These inspiring sessions, run through the First Story programme, helped them build confidence and creativity as they developed their unique voices through writing.
To celebrate, the students shared their imaginative pieces with parents and teachers and were treated to a delicious spread of food and refreshments.
A huge well done to Susannah, Savannah, Ivan, Sami, Zhnear, Francis and Ryan — we’re so proud of you and can’t wait to see what you write next.
Thank you to all the families who joined us for our Open Evening last night. It was a fantastic turnout and wonderful to meet so many of you, answer your questions, and share what makes Heron Hall Academy such a special place. If you would like a more personal look at the school, we are holding Open Mornings on Wednesday 1 October, Thursday 2 October and Friday 3 October, with tours at 9.10am and 10.15am. On Monday 17th November and Wednesday 3rd December, the school immunisation team will be visiting Heron Hall to offer Flu immunisations to pupils in Year 7 to Year 11
