    Celebrating our Year 11 students

    Dear Parents and Carers

    Celebrating our Year 11 students

I am writing to share with you the outcomes of this summer’s GCSE examinations.

There are many individual stories of achievement, with students working hard, overcoming challenges and in many cases exceeding their own expectations.

We have seen particular successes in subjects such as biology, chemistry, physics, drama and community languages.

These reflect the breadth of talent at Heron Hall and the commitment of our staff and families in supporting our young people.

We have also seen encouraging improvements in a number of subjects compared to last year, which is a real credit to the hard work of students and staff.

I am immensely proud of our Year 11 students.

They have shown real determination and resilience during their time with us, and these qualities will stand them in good stead as they take their next steps.

    Your child

The successes we have celebrated this week show what is possible for every Heron Hall student.

In just a few years’ time, your own child will be preparing for their GCSEs.

With the right support, hard work and encouragement, they too can look forward to achieving results that open doors to the next stage of their education.

We will be with them every step of the way.

  • Celebrating excellent first ever Sixth Form results

Celebrating excellent first ever Sixth Form results

    Dear Parents and Carers

    Excellent Sixth Form results

On Thursday, Heron Hall Academy reached a very special milestone – our first ever Sixth Form exam results.

I am absolutely delighted that our young people achieved such strong results across a range of A level subjects, including some of the most demanding courses.

Highlights included: Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Geography, Sociology and History. But many others too.

On the same day, we also received results for one of our BTECs – practical, career-focused qualifications designed to prepare students for further study or employment.

This was also our first year running BTECs at Heron Hall, and in Health and Social Care we achieved a fantastic 100% pass rate.

We are really excited that our students have now received multiple offers from universities.

The list includes the University of Essex, City University (London), Queen Mary University of London and the University of Westminster.

They will soon be studying on courses such Computer Science, Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Law, Psychology and Business Management.

We are proud of other students are moving into apprenticeships and employment – important next steps that reflect their hard work.

    Surpassed expectations

Many students have surpassed expectations through sheer hard work and resilience.

They have achieved wonderful results that open doors to universities, apprenticeships and careers beyond.

Everyone at the school – especially our amazing Sixth Form team – and you, our community of families, have supported these young people every single step of the way.
