Our Year 12 Biology students took part in a field trip to Epping Forest, where they carried out investigations in grassland and woodland areas. From plant sampling to studying light levels and soil conditions, they worked in teams, tested ideas, and experienced science in action.

On day two of the trip, our Biology students took their investigation to the water – comparing pond habitats, identifying freshwater species, and analysing biodiversity.

They finished by calculating population estimates and reflecting on what their results meant for the environment.

At Hummingbirds, our little ones have been busy growing their own potatoes and strawberries in the garden. On Friday 25th April 2025 and Friday 27th June, the school immunisation team will be visiting Heron Hall to offer HPV Vaccinations to Year 8 pupils.
