Our parents recently took part in a creative model-making workshop, part of a project to redesign Oxford Street as a family-friendly, pedestrian space. Led by community artist Christina Kalinowski and Project Manager Denean Rowe from Plan Aid London , families used paper, card and plenty of imagination to build models showing their ideas for a greener, safer, and more welcoming Oxford Street. A fantastic session that brought families together to shape ideas for real urban change — thank you to our brilliant Community Outreach team for making it possible.

If your child has missed one of their vaccinations, Vaccination UK are offering catch-up clinics at local clinics between April and June.

Vaccines offered are DTP (Diptheria, Tetanus & Polio), Meningitis ACWY, MMR, HPV and Flu.

Our Futures Event 2025 was a tremendous success, offering our Year 11 students an exciting and in-depth look into a wide range of career possibilities and post-16 opportunities. Throughout the day, guest speakers from industries such as film and media, banking, and social media shared their personal journeys, industry insights, and practical advice, helping students to better understand the pathways available to them. In addition to the inspiring talks, students had the chance to explore Heron Hall’s Sixth Form study options, gaining valuable information about courses that align with their interests and career ambitions.

The event also provided expert guidance, hands-on workshops, and valuable networking opportunities, allowing students to ask questions, seek advice, and make informed decisions about their future. Many left the event feeling motivated, empowered, and excited about the possibilities ahead, with a clearer vision of the steps they need to take to achieve their goals.

Our A-level students recently had the incredible opportunity to explore the world of diplomacy first-hand during a visit to the US Embassy in London. Throughout the day, they engaged with American diplomats across a series of diverse and interactive panel sessions, delving into pressing global issues such as international relations, climate change, human rights, and global security. In these intimate and thought-provoking discussions, students were encouraged to ask questions, share their views, and gain deeper insights into the complexities of global diplomacy.

The event not only sparked insightful conversations but also helped students to broaden their understanding of international affairs and consider potential careers in foreign service, politics, or global advocacy. It was a truly enriching experience that left a lasting impression, as students came away feeling more informed, inspired, and connected to the wider world.

Our staff looked fantastic in their World Book Day costumes, bringing beloved characters and stories to life with creativity, energy, and flair. From classic tales to modern favourites, their efforts captured the imagination of our students and added a real sense of fun to the day. Classrooms were filled with excitement as staff and students shared their favourite books and celebrated the power of storytelling. It was a wonderful opportunity to promote reading for pleasure across the school community. A big thank you to everyone who took part and made #WorldBookDay so special!

Our Year 11 students were treated to a special live performance of A Christmas Carol by the renowned Globe Players, bringing their GCSE literature text to life in an engaging and memorable way. The performance transformed what is often a classroom-based study into a dynamic and interactive revision experience, helping students to deepen their understanding of key themes, characters, and plot points just in time for their upcoming mock exams.

Head of English, Madam Broomes, praised the event, saying, “The wonderful performance provided an enjoyable way for the Year 11s to prepare for their mock exams. It reinforced their knowledge of the text while sparking discussion and enthusiasm for literature.” The event was not only educational but also inspired students to think critically about Dickens’ message and the historical context of the novel, all while enjoying the energy and creativity of live theatre.
